SFG20 Wins Constructing Excellence West Midlands Innovation Award 2020
Against strong competition, SFG20 has walked away with the prestigious Innovation Award 2020 from the Constructing Excellence Midlands award ceremony.
SFG20 won the Innovation Award for its work with ONE and Northumbria University in establishing an efficient way of adding data into BIM to enable Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Schedules to be extracted early in the design stage and/or at building handover.
This innovation allows decisions based on best value to be made early on and adds specification transparency whereby clients are better able to understand the assets’ maintenance requirements. Operational lifecycle costs can also be predicted and efficient maintenance programmes can be developed well in advance of building handover. These efficiencies equate to huge time and cost savings.
Steve Tomkins, Head of SFG20 Business Development said: "I'm extraordinary pleased and proud of successful collaboration with Jason Whittall from One Creative and Dr Kay Rogage from Northumbria University to realise and showcase the concrete benefits that SFG20 can bring when incorporated into BIM for Building operation."
The project now moves forward to the National Finals on 29th January.
