Every year, NHS hospitals are required to go through an assurance process known as the Premises Assurance Model (PAM).  

Part of this is a self-assessment to understand whether the building is safe and has been kept in a compliant state in line with both the law and what is stated within the Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) and Health Building notes.
