OVERVIEW

Identify the cost of delivering your maintenance strategy in minutes

SFG20 guides you on what maintenance should be carried out, how often it should be completed and whether it is statutory or not. Turning that maintenance regime into a credible budget or bid, however, is often a slow, spreadsheet-driven exercise that depends heavily on individual knowledge.

SFG20 Optimiser transforms maintenance regimes held in Facilities-iQ into detailed cost models in seconds. Apply your own labour models, rate cards, commercial assumptions and delivery rules, then compare different scenarios before committing to a budget, contract or operational change.

This gives your team control to apply its expertise while making the overall process faster, more consistent and easier to repeat.

RULES ENGINE

A powerful rules engine, driven by plain English

SFG20 Optimiser’s rules engine lets you define how your organisation delivers maintenance and apply that approach consistently across every cost model.

Rules can include or exclude tasks, or adjust cost, time and frequency, using information already held in your maintenance regime. This can include task classification, trade, frequency, compliance references, asset type and location.

There is no need to build every rule field by field. Describe the required change in plain English, such as “Exclude all Orange classification tasks from the Electrical trade", and the AI Rule Builder will convert it into a structured rule using your organisation’s own trades, skills and regime data.

You review and approve every generated rule before it is applied. Rule sets can be reused across scenarios, previewed against a regime and supported by a documented justification.

With the rules engine, you can:

Built for the SFG20 journey

Facilities-iQ helps organisations build and manage maintenance regimes using the SFG20 standard.

SFG20 Optimiser extends this process by showing the cost of delivering those regimes before decisions reach budgets, contracts or downstream FM systems.

Together, they provide a connected way to define maintenance requirements, model delivery costs, compare alternative approaches and make better-informed decisions.

FAQS

Frequently asked questions

What are the advantages of using SFG20 Optimiser over my current spreadsheets?

It’s very easy for spreadsheets to become disconnected from the most recent information, whereas SFG20 Optimiser is fully connected to up-to-date SFG20 definitions.

People use different spreadsheet files in different ways, which can result in inconsistencies, whereas SFG20 Optimiser helps to ensure a scalable consistency of approach.

Moreover, spreadsheets often prove difficult to pinpoint, whereas SFG20 Optimiser delivers a full audit trail that can be seamlessly operationalised upon contract award.

Are there any restrictions on my use of SFG20 Optimiser?

No. There is no limit on the number of skill mappings, rate cards, scenarios, rule sets or variants that you can set up. The value of SFG20 Optimiser is that you can test different scenarios until you land on the right answer.

Can I use SFG20 Optimiser to check if my outsourcing of maintenance is cost effective?
Yes. SFG20 Optimiser allows you to define exactly what maintenance you require of your suppliers and project the cost of this being delivered. This sets a benchmark for you to compare with bids you receive to ensure that firstly, the level of maintenance is aligned with your requirements, and secondly, that you’re being charged a fair price.
Can I use SFG20 Optimiser to look at both my in-house costs and outsourced costs?
Yes. SFG20 Optimiser allows you to isolate different maintenance elements and apply projected or actual outsourced cost, or your own in-house cost of delivery. You can then run comparisons to determine if insourcing or outsourcing delivers the best results for you.
Can I use SFG20 Optimiser to set up different pricing models?
Yes. SFG20 Optimiser enables you to create as many rate cards as you need to reflect the nuances of your business. When setting up scenario variants, you can apply different rate cards to the same scenario to gauge the impact of these on the price you charge.
Can I see SFG20 Optimiser in action before buying?

Yes. You can book a demo with our team.
