THE RATIFICATION AND COMPLIANCE COMMITTEE
What it is
The Ratification and Compliance Committee is a formal collaboration of leading sector organisations that challenge and ratify the governance and evidence supporting SFG20 content. Members bring collective, independent industry expertise from across the industry, helping ensure SFG20 remains a transparent and auditable standard for facilities management and maintenance. The Committee meets quarterly to review governance evidence, consider industry insight and ratify the processes supporting updates to SFG20 schedules.
Why this matters to the industry
Credibility and trust
Ratification by recognised industry organisations provides assurance that SFG20 aligns with legislative requirements and industry best practice, providing a reliable reference for asset owners, facilities professionals, contractors, engineers and auditors.
One industry standard
Risk reduction
Ratification and independent oversight help to reduce the risk of under- or over-maintenance by supporting consistent interpretation of legislative requirements, standards and industry practice.
HOW IT WORKS
Governance and specialist input
Compliance
SFG20 content is passed through a structured compliance framework. Using the compliance findings, the Committee ratifies the governance processes and supporting evidence behind SFG20 schedules.
Ratification and Compliance Committee
Organisations represented on the Committee contribute industry expertise and act through agreed organisational positions.
Network of Specialists
SFG20 is developing a Network of Specialists to provide subject-specific knowledge where additional technical expertise is required. Specialists may support the Technical Team during authoring and may also be consulted by the Committee where additional expertise is needed.
Membership is by invitation and subject to a formal vetting process. Candidate organisations are nominated by the Committee and approved by the BESA Publications Limited Board.
The Committee may also discuss issues raised across the industry. Feedback from these discussions helps inform the ongoing development and improvement of SFG20.
